Roman Garcia

Roman serves as Competition Financial Markets Officer at the EU Directorate General of Competition. His main areas of responsibility are capital markets, infrastructure, and asset management. He has worked in both the public and private sectors. Before joining the European Commission, he worked for 3 years as Senior Investment Officer in emerging markets for a multilateral development bank in Washington DC. He worked for leading global banks (asset securitization and sales OTC derivatives) in New York (Royal Bank of Scotland), London (Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN AMRO, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, and Banco Santander) and Madrid (Banco Español de Crédito).
